Ground turkey is a healthy single ingredient you can add to your dog’s food.

Step 1: In the meat section of your grocery store, grab a 1 pound package of ground turkey. Generally I use the leaner version, 93% lean/7% fat, but you can also get 85% lean/15% fat.

Step 2: Saute ground turkey on medium heat in a skillet, for about 5 minutes or until cooked through. Stir as cooking. If it starts to stick, add an ounce or two of water.

Done!

To boost your dog’s regular food, add a small amount of cooled ground turkey to your dog’s regular meal. This will not only increase nutritional levels but taste! This is especially important for picky eaters or aging dogs who are not as enthused about food. Not sure how much to add? Join us for access to our nutrition calculator!
